Job summary

Hoffman Construction is seeking a detail-oriented project accountant to support onsite accounting for a Boise, ID project, closely working with project leadership and internal/external teams.

The role involves processing subcontractor billings and invoices, preparing certified payroll reports, reviewing payroll submissions, and assisting with compliance and audits. Strong organizational skills and communication are essential for success in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or General Business Management is preferred.
• At least three (3) years of accounting and/or office management experience in the construction, engineering, or architectural field required.
• Experience with cost accounting, AP/AR functions, contract administration, invoice processing/auditing, and its relationship within the construction industry.
• Experience in similar accounting role within the construction industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process subcontractor billings and all material invoices for the project.
• Prepare and submit certified payroll reports using Elations.
• Track and review subcontractor certified payroll submissions.
• Support corporate craft payroll department in the processing of union payroll, new hire paperwork, time entry, payroll check processing, etc.
• Assist with ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local payroll, wage and hour laws and best practices.
• Assist with payroll audits as needed.
• Support other departmental projects, data requests, compliance requirements as needed.
• Provide outstanding service through timely and effective follow-ups and communications with both internal and external customers.
