Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA, is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform venipuncture, capillary collections, and related specimen processing as part of the laboratory team. You will review orders, collect samples according to guidelines, and assist with point-of-care testing and basic quality control to support patient care.

The role requires a High School diploma and BLS certification within 3 months, with the ability to work 5:30am–2pm, weekdays and every other weekend/holiday, and

Qualifications

• High School graduate required.
• Basic life support certification required within 3 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipuncture and capillary phlebotomy procedures using appropriate equipment.
• Review requisitions to ensure tests meet Medical Necessity and prepare ABN when needed.
• Performs EKG, pulse oximetry and point-of-care testing and maintains related quality control.
