Rutgers University, operating through University Correctional Health Care (UCHC), seeks a Per Diem Technician I for Edna Mahan Correctional Facility in Clinton, NJ. The role supports the clinical and administrative medical team, performing vital signs, specimen collection, and medication coordination within the health service unit.

The position requires CMA/EMT/CNA certification, CPR, and at least two years of related healthcare experience, plus a valid driver’s license and onsite work

Qualifications

• Valid CMA, EMT, or CNA certification required.
• At least two years of progressively responsib le healthcare experience involving multiple areas of knowledge and skills.
• CPR certification required.
• Valid driver’s license is required. Must possess own vehicle or alternative means of transportation from one site to another.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs, height and weight and document in EMR.
• Assist physician/AP with procedures and patient preparation.
• Obtain specimen collection and handling, including blood draws.
• Assist with cleaning, sterilization and securing of equipment in Health Service Unit.
• Maintain or assist in maintaining supply stock in Health Service Unit and examination rooms.
• Aggregate orders of medications and forward to pharmacy provider/local pharmacy.
• Assist with coordination of patient care and documentation as required.
