Job summary

CW Resources is seeking a Payroll Accounting Clerk in New Britain, CT to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing. You will manage confidential employee records, handle data entry for hires and terminations, and coordinate cycle postings with a third-party payroll provider.

The role requires at least 3 years in payroll or accounting, strong Excel skills, and experience with UKG. It is an on-site position with strong emphasis on accuracy and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of 3 years in payroll processing or general accounting.
• Proficiency in payroll transactions and terminology.
• Understanding of payroll processing cycles, tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and compliance.
• Basic knowledge of payroll-related accounting practices.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain confidential employee master records and files.
• Enter and update payroll data (new hires, rehires, terminations, rate changes).
• Prepare and process regular and off-cycle payrolls using UKG or third-party payroll provider.
• Review timesheets and reconcile hours worked for timely payroll posting.
• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to inquiries.
• Maintain access and confidentiality of payroll systems and documentation.
• Provide payroll coverage during staff absence and assist with audits.
