Axis Health System is hiring a Patient Experience Specialist II (Behavioral Health) to streamline patient access and guide registrations across our Gunnison service area. This role requires attention to detail, strong customer service, and healthcare terminology knowledge.

The position demands at least one year in behavioral health or medical clinics, EHR/scheduling experience, and familiarity with payer requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in behavioral health or medical clinic settings is required.
• 1 year of EHR and scheduling system experience is required.
• Knowledge of Colorado payer requirements (commercial plans, Medicaid) is required.
• Experience with grant-funded services and fee programs is required.
• 2 years of customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead patient enrollment and ensure eligibility documentation for appointments.
• Register patients in EHR and collect insurance and financial information.
• Adhere to medical records standards and HIPAA compliance.
• Schedule and confirm new patient appointments and update provider schedules.
• Perform cash handling and assist with patient payments as needed.
• Communicate effectively with operations leadership and teams.
