Ensemble is seeking a Patient Access Specialist for an onsite role at Covenant - St Joseph Hospital in Milford, NH. The position handles admitting duties, insurance collection, and patient communications to support smooth hospital operations. Part-time schedule with on-site requirements.

Responsibilities include MRN assignment, eligibility checks, ABN screening, and POS-oriented billing support, all while delivering compassionate customer service and adhering to organizational policy.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of customer service experience.
• Ability to perform admitting duties and handle patient information.
• Experience working onsite in a healthcare environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform admitting duties for all patients admitted for services at the hospital.
• Assign accurate MRNs, verify medical necessity, collect insurance information, and process physician orders.
• Operate the telephone switchboard and provide excellent customer service with compassion.
• Audit accounts, ensure timely forms completion, and provide data to leadership.
• Pre-register patient accounts and collect patient financial liabilities and payments.
• Explain and obtain signatures on consent and patient education forms.
• Verify insurance eligibility and support POS billing processes to improve clean claim rate.
• Screen medical necessity using ABN software and distribute related forms.
