Job summary

Ensemble Health Partners is seeking an on-site Patient Access Specialist for Carilion - Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA. You will perform admitting duties, assign MRNs, verify insurance, collect payments, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards while delivering compassionate, accurate service to patients and families.

The role requires at least 1 year of customer service experience, a high school diploma or GED, and a CRCR certification within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of customer service experience.
• Inquisitive and open to innovation including AI to improve processes.
• CRCR certification required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform admitting duties for all patients admitted for services.
• Assign MRNs, verify medical necessity and collect insurance information.
• Process physician orders and provide patient instructions with empathy.
• Explain consent forms and distribute educational documents as required.
• Screen eligibility in the insurance verification system and support POS.
• Operate the telephone switchboard and maintain patient service quality.
