Job summary

UChicago Medicine in Burr Ridge, IL is seeking a Patient Appointment Coordinator for our Burr Ridge Access Center. This full-time, on-site role handles patient demographics, scheduling, insurance verification, and referrals using Epic and Cadence systems to ensure efficient patient flow.

You will greet callers, document messages, coordinate with clinicians, and maintain high levels of customer service in line with the Ideal Patient Experience philosophy. Shift 8:30am–5:00pm.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to balance multiple priorities and handle challenging situations.
• Typing speed 35 wpm and 4500 keystrokes per hour; proficient with PCs and software including Epic.

Responsibilities

• Greet callers and respond to inquiries.
• Input demographic, insurance, and referring physician information for new patients.
• Schedule appointments per protocol using scheduling systems.
• Provide pre-appointment instructions and directions.
• Verify and update patient information for return visits.
• Document messages electronically and forward to clinicians.
• Escalate calls per protocol and manage wait lists.
