Job summary

Aston Carter is hiring an Onboarding Specialist to support new hire onboarding and ensure a positive, seamless experience for incoming employees. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of onboarding experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple hires and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

This contract-to-hire role is fully onsite in Chesapeake, VA, with a pay range of $25.00 - $28.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional onboarding or new hire coordination experience required.
• Experience supporting high-volume onboarding environments is preferred.
• Strong understanding of onboarding documentation and processes.
• Experience working with an HRIS, ATS, or onboarding platform.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable handling sensitive and confidential employee information.
• Must be comfortable working fully onsite five days per week.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage the onboarding process for new hires from offer acceptance through their first day and initial onboarding period.
• Communicate with new hires regarding pre-employment requirements, onboarding documentation, start dates, and first-day expectations.
• Collect, review, and maintain new hire documentation to ensure information is accurate and complete.
• Coordinate background checks, employment verification, and other pre-employment requirements as needed.
• Complete and process new hire paperwork, including I-9 documentation and other required employment forms.
• Enter and maintain accurate employee information within HRIS and onboarding systems.
• Partner with recruiters, HR team members, hiring managers, and internal departments to ensure employees are prepared for their start dates.
• Track onboarding progress and follow up on outstanding documentation or requirements.
