Job summary

Radiant in El Segundo, CA, is seeking a Test Engineer to drive mission-critical test operations for its nuclear microreactor program. You will bridge engineering, operations and human factors, translating designs into executable test procedures and leading test campaigns in a fast-paced environment.

You will work onsite at our El Segundo HQ, contribute to planning, risk mitigation, data review and hardware performance analysis, and help shape testing software, procedures and ground support

Qualifications

• 2+ years of full-time professional engineering experience in problem-solving, analysis or testing.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing or related engineering discipline.
• Ability to apply first principles thinking to problems in uncertain situations.
• Background in highly regulated industries (nuclear, aerospace, aviation, maritime).
• Proven ability to lead projects and work independently.
• Strong fundamentals in fluids and thermodynamics.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-driven with ability to seek requirements with minimal direction.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing as a Test Conductor/Test Director to align procedures with real-world execution.
• Collaborate with design engineers to develop innovative test methods for complex mechanisms.
• Support testing and improvements of Kaleidos reactor hardware through development, qualification and acceptance testing.
• Identify and develop suppliers for component sourcing and fabrication.
• Drive continuous improvements in test processes and data delivery quality.
• Support one-off test campaigns to drive hardware risk reduction.
• Ensure compliance with DOE and NRC standards in procedural documentation.
