Job summary

Radiant, based in El Segundo, CA, seeks a Senior Test Engineer to lead mission-critical test operations for the Kaleidos reactor development. You will assume the roles of Test Conductor and Test Director, partnering with design engineers to craft robust test methods and ensure safe, reliable hardware testing in a fast-paced environment.

You will own test planning, risk mitigation, data review, and hardware performance analysis, while ensuring DOE/NRC standards compliance and contributing to test

Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-time engineering experience in design, analysis, or testing.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or related engineering discipline.
• Able to apply first principles thinking to uncertain problems.
• Experience in highly regulated industries (nuclear, aerospace, aviation, maritime).
• Proven ability to lead projects and work independently.
• Strong fundamentals in fluids and thermodynamics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Flexible, self-driven with minimal direction.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing as a Test Conductor/Test Director to align procedures with real-world execution.
• Partner with design engineers to develop innovative test methods for complex mechanisms and structures.
• Support testing and improvements of fluid, electrical, and structural hardware of the Kaleidos reactor through development, qualification, and acceptance testing.
• Identify and develop suppliers for component sourcing and fabrication.
• Drive continuous improvement in test processes and data delivery quality.
• Support one-off test campaigns in a fast paced environment to drive hardware risk reduction.
• Ensure compliance with DOE and NRC standards, maintaining clear procedural documentation.
