Job summary

Radiant, an El Segundo, CA-based startup building nuclear microreactors, seeks a Test Engineer to drive mission-critical test operations for development, qualification, and acceptance of our Kaleidos reactor tech. Translate complex hardware/software into executable test procedures and lead test planning with a multidisciplinary team.

You will contribute to test ground software and equipment, manage risk, review data, and ensure rigorous documentation in a fast-paced production environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of full-time professional engineering experience.
• Bachelors degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or related engineering.
• Apply first principles thinking to solve problems.
• Background in highly regulated industries (e.g., nuclear, aerospace, aviation, maritime).
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects and work independently.
• Strong fundamentals in fluids and thermodynamics.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Flexible and self-driven with minimal direction.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing as a Test Conductor/Test Director to ensure procedures align with real-world execution.
• Partner with design engineers to develop innovative test methods for complex mechanisms and structures.
• Support testing and development of fluid, electrical, and structural hardware through development, qualification, and acceptance testing.
• Identify and develop appropriate suppliers for component sourcing and fabrication.
• Drive initiatives for continuous improvement in test processes and data delivery quality.
• Support one-off test campaigns in a fast-paced environment to drive hardware risk reduction.
• Ensure compliance with DOE and NRC standards in procedural documentation.
