Job summary

Radiant in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Senior Test Engineer to drive test operations for the Kaleidos microreactor development, qualification, and acceptance. You will translate complex hardware and software designs into clear, executable test procedures and oversee test planning, execution, and reviews.

This role is onsite at HQ and involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, risk assessment, and hands-on testing in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-time professional engineering experience (design, analysis, or testing).
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or related engineering discipline.
• Ability to apply first principles thinking in uncertain situations.
• Background in highly regulated industries (nuclear/aerospace).
• Proven ability to lead projects and work independently.
• Strong fundamentals in fluids and thermodynamics.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Flexible, self-driven with minimal direction.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing as Test Conductor/Test Director to align with real-world execution.
• Collaborate with design engineers to develop innovative test methods for complex mechanisms.
• Support testing and improvements of reactor hardware through development, qualification and acceptance testing.
• Identify suppliers for component sourcing and fabrication.
• Drive continuous improvement in test processes and data delivery quality.
• Support rapid test campaigns in fast-paced environments to reduce risks.
• Ensure DOE and NRC compliance in procedural documentation.
