Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a Resident Engineer in California for its Global Services/Advanced Services team. You will own complex customer issues, troubleshoot networks, and deliver proactive guidance while working onsite at a customer site or HPE office.

Required: 4+ years in network engineering, JUNOS CLI, Juniper MX/EX/QFX/PTX, BGP/OSPF/ISIS, MPLS/VPLS, and QoS. Strong communication and collaboration are essential to success in this role.

Qualifications

• Typically requires 4+ years of network engineering experience.
• Excellent engineering troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• JUNOS CLI experience and large-scale Juniper hardware exposure.
• Experience with core routing protocols (BGP/OSPF/ISIS) and MPLS/VPLS/VPLS QoS.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of customer issues and restore service using a systematic approach.
• Collaborate with GS teams to understand networks, issues, and solutions.
• Replicate customer environments in lab and work with engineers on fixes.
• Provide support for high-profile escalations and engage in meetings.
• Develop and maintain skills; contribute to internal/external docs.
• Propose improvements to enhance reliability and customer satisfaction.
