Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise in Sunnyvale seeks a Resident Engineer for the Global Services Advanced Services team. You will be the primary technical contact for customers, providing break/fix support and proactive design guidance.

Typically 4+ years in network engineering with strong troubleshooting, Juniper hardware experience, and skills in BGP/OSPF/ISIS, MPLS/VPLS, EVPN-VXLAN and QoS. Travel and in-customer deployments may be required.

Qualifications

4+ years of network engineering experience.
Excellent engineering troubleshooting skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong presentation skills.
JUNOS CLI experience.
Large-scale Juniper hardware experience (MX/EX/QFX/PTX).
Experience with BGP, OSPF, ISIS protocols; MPLS/VPLS/L2VPNs/EVPN-VXLAN; QoS.

Responsibilities

Take ownership of customer issues and isolate network problems across configuration, hardware, and software.
Collaborate with GS teams to share knowledge and resolve issues.
Replicate customer environments in lab and provide fixes or workarounds.
Support high-profile technical escalations via email, calls, and on-site meetings.
Develop and maintain skills in core products; pursue required training.
Coordinate with network engineering for product improvements and reliability.
Contribute to internal/external technical documentation.
