Job summary

Maersk in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Procurement Manager to lead indirect procurement and multimodal transportation sourcing for a major customer. You will manage vendor sourcing, quotations, rate cards, and supplier relationships while ensuring visibility and final approval.

Qualifications

• Procurement experience in logistics, supply chain, transportation, or 4PL environment.
• Sourcing transportation services with drayage and ocean prioritized.
• Ability to manage a procurement portfolio and deliver cost reductions.
• Experience negotiating pricing, maintaining rate cards, and preparing customer proposals.
• Understanding of indirect procurement and supplier governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end procurement of indirect goods and services supporting customer and business operations.
• Source, evaluate, and negotiate with transportation suppliers across drayage, ocean, cross-border, LCL, air, and 4PL environments.
• Manage the annual drayage and first-mile tender, maintain rate cards, and provide ongoing quotations to the operations team.
• Develop pricing proposals and procurement recommendations for customer review and final approval.
• Review freight audit and payment escalations, validate disputed rates, and determine the appropriate resolution with internal teams and suppliers.
• Identify cost-reduction opportunities, support customer projects, and participate in regular procurement check-ins with the customer.
• Monitor vendor performance, contractual compliance, supplier governance, and alignment with internal procurement policies.
