Job summary

Maersk in Charlotte, North Carolina, is seeking a Procurement Manager to lead indirect procurement and multimodal transportation sourcing including drayage, ocean, cross-border, LCL, air, and 4PL. You will source vendors, prepare quotations and rate cards, and manage supplier relationships to deliver savings for a major customer.

This is a full-time, onsite role with minimal travel to Greensboro. You will collaborate with procurement, operations, and finance teams, influence sourcing strategy,

Qualifications

• Experience in procurement within logistics or transportation.
• Proven ability to source transportation services including drayage and ocean.
• Track record of delivering measurable cost reductions.
• Experience negotiating pricing and maintaining rate cards.
• Understanding of freight audit and payment processes.
• Strong organization and stakeholder-management skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building with customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end procurement of indirect goods and services.
• Source, evaluate, and negotiate with transportation suppliers.
• Manage annual drayage and first-mile tender; maintain rate cards.
• Develop pricing proposals for customer review and approval.
• Review freight audit and payment escalations; resolve with suppliers.
• Identify cost-reduction opportunities and participate in procurement check-ins.
• Monitor vendor performance and contract compliance.
