Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking an Experienced Mobile Diesel Technician to maintain client fleets and handle service calls at customer locations, delivering on-site diesel expertise for trucks and equipment. We require tenured technicians with 5 years of Class 7 & 8 experience; CDL preferred but not required; ASE and manufacturer certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility
• High school diploma or GED
• CDL preferred but not required
• Peterbilt, International, Ford, Hino, Isuzu, Cummins, & ASE certifications are preferred

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards
• Handle basic maintenance of the truck including fueling, oil checks, cleaning and required inspections
• Manage inventory control on the service truck and for the vehicle
• Report to the Service Manager and be assigned daily duties
• Maintain availability for after-hours service calls with open work schedule
• Maintain and inventory the supplied tools for diesel engine trucks and equipment
• Read job orders to determine malfunction and plan work procedures
• Use diagnostic equipment and technical information to perform correct repairs
• Diagnose and replace components (injectors, pistons, liners, etc.) and other parts as needed
• Document and submit paperwork into the mobile service program accurately
• Inspect guards and safety devices and perform adjustments
• Lubricate moving parts and verify conformance to specifications
• Perform preventative maintenance as requested
• Respond to customer inquiries and foster positive relations
• Advise customers on repairs within 3 months
• Participate in training and apply it on the job
