Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking an Experienced Mobile Diesel Technician to support our clients’ fleets. You will perform on-site service calls, diagnose and repair trucks, manage tools and consumables, and ensure safety and documentation standards are met.

The role requires 5 years of Class 7/8 technician experience, a valid CDL preferred, and ASE certifications. Competitive pay, benefits, and opportunities for growth are offered by Rush Truck Centers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or truck service facility.
• Current CDL preferred but not required.
• Medical card as required by FMVSS.
• Peterbilt, International, Ford, Hino, Isuzu, Cummins and ASE certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Handle basic maintenance of the truck including fueling, oil checks, cleaning, and inspections.
• Manage inventory control on the service truck and maintain stock.
• Report to the Service Manager and perform duties daily.
• Be available for after-hours service calls and variable schedules.
• Read job orders and plan work procedures by listening to the vehicle in operation.
• Use diagnostic equipment to determine malfunctions and perform repairs.
• Replace injectors, pistons, liners, cam shafts, cylinder heads, bearings, oil pans, clutches, brakes, and transmissions.
• Document work performed in the company computer system.
• Inspect safety devices and ensure conformance to specifications.
• Lubricate moving parts and verify repaired vehicle performance.
• Perform preventative maintenance as requested.
• Submit paperwork accurately and timely; enter work in the mobile service program.
• Respond to customer inquiries and foster positive relations.
• Advise customers on repairs or services within the next 3 months.
• Participate in training and apply it on the job.
