Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking an Experienced Mobile Diesel Technician to support our fleet at client locations across the US. You will perform on-site maintenance and repairs, manage service-truck inventory, and provide expeditious expertise directly to customer trucks and equipment.

The role requires 5 years of Class 7/8 experience, a GED, and relevant certifications; a CDL is preferred but not required. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Current CDL preferred but not required.
• Medical card as required by the FMVSS.
• Mechanical aptitude and technical ability are a must.
• Peterbilt, International, Ford, Hino, Isuzu, Cummins, & ASE certifications are preferred and rewarded.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Perform basic maintenance of trucks including fueling, oil checks, cleanliness, and completing inspections.
• Manage inventory control on service trucks and stock levels.
• Report to the Service Manager and follow daily assignments.
• Be available for after-hours service calls and flexible scheduling.
• Maintain and inventory the tools required for diesel truck maintenance.
• Read job orders, diagnose vehicle operation, and plan repair procedures.
• Use diagnostic equipment and technical information to perform repairs.
• Diagnose and replace parts such as injectors, pistons, bearings, and transmissions.
• Document all work in the company system and ensure safety checks are performed.
