Job summary

Rush Truck Centers, a division of Rush Enterprises Inc., seeks an Experienced Mobile Diesel Technician to service fleets on client sites, diagnose issues, perform repairs, and complete documentation in our service system.

The role requires 5 years of Class 7/8 dealership experience, ASE certifications preferred and a CDL is a plus. Expect an after-hours availability and ongoing training with a strong total rewards package including healthcare and a 401(k) plan.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Current CDL preferred but not required.
• Medical card as required by FMVSS.
• Mechanical aptitude and technical ability is a must.
• Peterbilt, International, Ford, Hino, Isuzu, Cummins, & ASE certifications are preferred & rewarded.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Handle basic maintenance of the truck including fueling, oil checks, cleaning, and documenting inspections.
• Manage inventory control on the service truck and keep it stocked.
• Report to the Service Manager and be assigned daily duties.
• Be available for after-hours service calls and open work schedule.
• Maintain and inventory the tools for diesel engine maintenance.
• Read job orders and diagnose vehicle malfunctions to plan procedures.
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify issues and perform repairs.
• Perform component replacements and related repairs as needed.
• Document all work accurately in the company system.
• Ensure safety devices and guards are in good condition.
• Lubricate moving parts and verify repairs meet specs.
• Perform preventative maintenance as requested.
• Submit paperwork timely and accurately.
