Job summary

WSP Global Inc. is seeking a Mining Construction Safety Coordinator for a large EPCM mining project within the Earth & Environment team.

The onsite role (northern Nevada site, US) can be based anywhere in the United States with preference for Nevada, Utah, Alaska or near major mining projects, with travel per diem for non-local candidates. The role focuses on HSSE performance, site compliance, and coordinating with internal teams and the client to foster a strong safety culture across civil,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, project management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of safety management experience in mining, open pit and underground preferred.
• Experience in large‑scale heavy civil construction, process facilities, or mining infrastructure.
• MSHA certification required; other certifications (CMSP, CSP, CSMC, CIH) and OSHA 30 preferred.
• Knowledge of construction and mine safety regulations, planning, and risks.
• Strong communication, problem solving, conflict resolution, and decision‑making; proficient in MS Office.
• Minimum 2 years with an EPCM organization or Mine Owner in similar role.
• Able to walk uneven terrain, climb ladders, and work above/underground.
• Must pass drug test, background check, and have a clean driving record per policy.

Responsibilities

• Ensure contractor compliance with safety standards throughout the project lifecycle.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits; implement corrective actions.
• Participate in investigations of incidents and near misses; document findings and propose fixes.
• Collect and analyze health and safety data.
• Exercise responsible decision‑making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct per policy.
