Job summary

AKS Engineering & Forestry, LLC seeks a Mechanical Engineer with strong field installation experience to lead onsite oversight of mechanical systems on utility-scale renewable energy projects, including solar, BESS, and wind. You will coordinate with EPCs, OEMs, and subcontractors to keep work aligned with plans and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Experience in solar, BESS, or wind projects preferred.
• Strong field installation and onsite coordination skills.
• Ability to travel to project sites across the United States.
• Pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day onsite oversight of mechanical installations (piles, trackers, modules, inverters, BESS).
• Coordinate delivery, staging, and tracking of equipment and materials onsite.
• Perform QA/QC of mechanical work to ensure safety and adherence to specs.
• Interface with OEMs, EPCs, and commissioning teams to support installation and startup.
• Manage NCRs and corrective actions; track turnover documentation.
• Maintain project documentation of site conditions, decisions, and progress.
• Represent AKS on site and build strong client and stakeholder relationships.
• Review plans, safety procedures, and schedules for mechanical activities.
• Support inspections, punch walks, and permit closeouts.
