Job summary

AKS Engineering & Forestry, LLC is seeking a Civil Engineer to lead onsite grading, foundations, drainage, and road work on utility-scale solar, BESS, and wind projects. You will oversee surveys, QA/QC, and coordination with EPCs and contractors while ensuring safety and schedule adherence.

The role is full-time and onsite with travel across the United States. A Civil Engineering background and OSHA 10 are preferred, with strong communication and documentation skills essential to success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering preferred.
• Experience with solar, BESS, or wind projects.
• Ability to coordinate multiple trades in a fast-paced field environment.
• Strong communication with EPC partners, utilities, and internal teams.
• OSHA 10 safety training completed.
• Willing to travel across the United States.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day onsite oversight of grading, roads, foundations, and drainage.
• Oversee survey and earthwork activities for accuracy and alignment with plans.
• Ensure quality through inspections, QA/QC, and compliance with specifications.
• Coordinate civil subcontractors, schedules, and safety on site.
• Manage delivery, staging, and tracking of Owner Supplied Equipment and materials.
• Maintain accurate project documentation of site conditions and decisions.
• Serve as the onsite representative to clients, utilities, AHJs, EPCs, and contractors.
• Mentor junior field staff and contribute to process improvements.
