Job summary

HireTalent in Detroit, MI is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead day-to-day maintenance and operations for critical utility systems in a high-volume manufacturing setting. You will oversee skilled trades and ensure equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, and safe operations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing or similar environments.
• 1+ year of supervisory or team leadership experience leading skilled trades.
• Experience supervising preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Working knowledge of industrial mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, or automation systems.
• Strong hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise skilled trades personnel supporting industrial utility and wastewater treatment operations.
• Manage preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities.
• Prioritize work orders, allocate resources, and coordinate maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
• Support reliable operation and maintenance of boilers, chillers, HVAC, pumps and water treatment systems.
• Lead troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, instrumentation, and process-control issues.
• Support PLC, HMI, SCADA, VFD, instrumentation, and industrial automation systems.
• Coordinate contractors, vendors, and service providers while maintaining plant safety requirements.
• Develop preventive maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
• Perform equipment failure analysis and lead Root Cause Analysis activities.
• Support capital improvement projects through installation and commissioning.
• Manage work orders, preventive maintenance, labor utilization, and equipment history through CMMS.
• Monitor maintenance and reliability performance including uptime, MTTR, MTBF, PM compliance.
• Maintain accurate equipment, operational, and compliance documentation.
• Promote safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
