Job summary

RTX is seeking a Linux-focused System Admin (onsite) in Richardson, TX. The role requires DoD Secret clearance, U.S. citizenship, and operating system expertise in RHEL and Ubuntu, with exposure to virtualization (VMware) and automation (Ansible).

You will work within a cross-functional team, drive resolutions across support levels, and contribute to automation, hardening, and operational stability within Secure Labs environments.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
• DoD Secret Clearance is needed day one.
• Linux Systems Administration (RHEL and Ubuntu required)
• Server administration and virtualization technologies (VMware, etc.)
• Networking fundamentals
• Compliance frameworks (NIST 800-53)
• Ability to obtain IAT Level II certification (e.g., Sec+). Active certification preferred.
• Ability to obtain a Collateral Secret Govt. Security Clearance, up to Top Secret. Active clearance preferred.

Responsibilities

• You will work with one or more of the following Linux-focused technologies: Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Ubuntu Server, Ansible, virtualization platforms, server hardware and system services, networking and storage technologies, backup and restoration tools.
• You will regularly work with other members of the organization as part of a cross-functional team.
• You will build strong working relationships with customers and peers.
• You will assist in driving escalations to resolution across Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 support levels.
• You will participate in improvement of internal processes (LEAN/ACE/CORE).
• You will use your technical knowledge and Linux experience to facilitate resolution of service requests and restoration tickets.
• You will support the implementation, deployment, and maintenance of Linux solutions for assigned projects.
• You will contribute to automation, hardening, and operational stability efforts across the Secure Labs environment.
