Job summary

RTX Raytheon in Richardson, TX seeks a Principal Linux System Administrator to build, secure, and maintain classified IT environments supporting critical programs. You will collaborate with program teams to define computing needs and deliver end-to-end solutions across Linux platforms and VMware infrastructure.

The role requires active TS/SCI with poly, DoD 8570 IAT Level 2, and US citizenship. On-call support and occasional travel may be required, with relocation assistance available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a related field with 3+ years of relevant experience or 5+ years with a bachelor's.
• Active TS/SCI with polygraph security clearance is required before start date.
• U.S. citizenship is required for eligibility for clearance.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification (or higher) on start date.
• Experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux based systems with patching, RPMs, tuning, LDAP, and security hardening.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and secure IT systems in classified environments.
• Collaborate with program developers and engineers to resolve system issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Provide after-hours maintenance and on-call support as needed.
• Occasional travel may be required; 100% onsite role in Richardson, TX.
