Collins Aerospace is seeking a Linux-focused System Administrator for an onsite role in Richardson, TX. You will manage RHEL/Ubuntu servers, virtualization, and automation to support secure lab environments and projects.

The role requires U.S. citizenship and a DoD Secret clearance, with collaboration across tiers and cross-functional teams. You will contribute to automation, hardening, and incident resolution in a dynamic defense context.

Qualifications

Typically requires a university degree and 5+ years experience or an advanced degree with 3+ years experience.
U.S. citizenship and DoD Secret clearance required day one.
Linux systems administration on RHEL and Ubuntu.
Server administration and virtualization (VMware, etc.).
Networking fundamentals.
Compliance frameworks (NIST 800-53).
Ability to obtain IAT Level II certification (e.g., Sec+). Active certification preferred.
Ability to obtain a Collateral Secret Govt. Security Clearance up to Top Secret. Active clearance preferred.

Responsibilities

Work with Linux-focused technologies (RHEL, Ubuntu Server) and configuration management (Ansible preferred).
Maintain server hardware and system services.
Handle networking and storage technologies.
Manage backup and restoration tools.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Drive escalations to resolution across Tier 1–3 support.
Improve internal processes (LEAN/ACE/CORE).
Support deployment and maintenance of Linux solutions for projects.
