Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield in Indianapolis seeks a Lead Operating Engineer to ensure efficient operation and maintenance of MEP systems at the assigned facility. You will monitor performance, oversee maintenance activities, and may supervise staff depending on building size.

This role requires 5+ years of related trade experience, relevant licenses, EPA 608 certification, and strong communication skills. You will coordinate with contractors, prepare monthly reports, and respond to emergencies as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related trade experience in operating MEP systems in commercial properties.
• EPA Universal certification for refrigerants (Section 608).
• Valid driver's license and good driving record.
• High School Diploma or GED; apprentice/trade school favored.
• Experience with HVAC, boilers, pumps and refrigerant systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems for the building.
• Supervise maintenance staff when applicable and coordinate activities.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on equipment.
• Coordinate with contractors and manage inventory.
• Respond to emergencies and report to management with monthly updates.
