Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking a Lead Operating Engineer to ensure efficient operations and maintenance of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems at the assigned facility in Southfield, MI. The role may involve supervising maintenance staff and coordinating with contractors.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of trade experience in commercial properties, valid licenses and EPA 608 certification. Strong safety awareness and reporting are essential, with a focus on reliability and building

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related trade experience in operating mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems in a commercial property setting.
• Appropriate license/permit for trade as may be required (Journeyman/Master Electrician, etc.).
• EPA Section 608 Universal refrigerant certification or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems for the building.
• Supervise maintenance staff when applicable and coordinate activities.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks (filters, lamps, bearings, belts, etc.).
• Coordinate with outside contractors and technicians on projects.
• Maintain inventory and respond to emergencies and customer concerns.
• Submit monthly reports to management and adhere to safety training.
