Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. seeks an experienced instrumentation service professional in Cambridge, MA. This onsite role focuses on optimizing the life-cycle cost of high-end laboratory equipment through advanced troubleshooting, calibration, and preventive maintenance.

You will support major brands such as Agilent, Waters, and Thermo Scientific, applying LCAM/RCM principles to advise on replacements and reliability. Strong chromatographic skills and customer-facing communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; minimum two years related experience and/or training.
• Seven years of experience in instrumentation, control, or related repair and maintenance.
• Experience in pharmaceutical R&D including preparing chemical standards by weighing, pipetting, mixing, diluting, and verifying concentrations.

Responsibilities

• Performs advanced-level troubleshooting and servicing on specialty equipment and systems in pharmaceutical R&D.
• Supports product lines: Agilent, Waters, Thermo Scientific; chromatography experience is required.
• Performs complex instrument qualifications, calibrations, and preventive maintenance per client specs.
• Monitors and schedules technicians for installation, calibration, repair, and maintenance tasks.
• Develops methods and procedures for service and calibration of specialized instrumentation.
• Assists in determining instrument and parts reliability; recommends replacements as needed.
• Provides guidance on platform reliability and replacement based on LCAM/RCM principles.
• Organizes work processes and leads projects for instrumentation/calibration staff to meet contractual obligations.
• Reinstalls, tests, evaluates, and maintains instruments after repairs.
• Documents inspections and maintenance activities per guidelines; communicates with customers and contractors as needed.
• Provides technical training and orientation on specialized instrumentation.
