Job summary

Unisys Corporation is seeking a hands-on L2 Network Support Engineer to maintain and troubleshoot the client’s network across Hershey, PA HQ, nearby offices and plants. This onsite role covers SD-WAN, LAN, Wireless APs, and Cisco/Arista switches, with focus on rapid issue resolution and stable connectivity.

You will perform basic configurations, monitor health, document changes, and coordinate with IT teams and vendors. Travel to nearby sites is required as needed.

Qualifications

• 6–8 years of hands-on network support experience.
• Experience with SD-WAN concepts and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Cisco/Arista switches and VLANs.
• Experience with Wireless Access Points and controllers.
• Familiarity with ITSM/change management processes.
• Ability to read network diagrams and escalate to L3.

Responsibilities

• Provide L2 network support for SD-WAN, LAN, Wireless APs, and switches across HQ, branch offices, and manufacturing plant sites.
• Troubleshoot and resolve incidents escalated from L1/helpdesk, including connectivity drops, slow performance, VLAN misconfigurations, and AP issues.
• Monitor network health using available tools and respond to alerts affecting production or office environments.
• Perform basic configuration tasks on Cisco and Arista switches - VLANs, port settings, spanning tree, and trunk/access port adjustments.
• Support and maintain Wireless Access Points - connectivity, AP reboots, controller coordination.
• Assist with SD-WAN edge device support - basic troubleshooting of WAN links, failover validation, escalating complex issues to L3 or vendor support.
• Coordinate with ISPs for circuit issues, outage reporting, and ticket follow-ups.
• Conduct regular site visits to HQ, nearby offices, and plant locations to perform hands-on network checks and hardware replacements.
• Maintain accurate documentation of network issues, changes, and site-specific configurations.
• Support onboarding of new network hardware at plant/office expansions under L3 guidance.
