Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking an IT Support Engineer to provide hands-on desktop, network, and server support in Kinston, NC, with a contract-to-hire path. You will work onsite, engage with manufacturing and corporate teams, and help drive regional IT initiatives.

The role emphasizes Active Directory, Windows 11, server management, and end-user support. Strong communication and independent problem-solving are essential, with a schedule around 7:00 AM–4:00 PM or 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.

Qualifications

• Experience in IT support, systems administration, or infrastructure support.
• Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Windows 11, server management and administration.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a wide range of technical issues.
• Experience in manufacturing environments preferred; AS400 exposure a plus.
• Degree in Computer Science, IT, Business, or related field preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support for desktop, hardware, software, and network issues.
• Manage and support Windows environments, Active Directory, and server infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot printer, workstation, and infrastructure challenges.
• Assist with device imaging, user account management, and ticket resolution within SLAs.
• Partner with site leadership to convey requirements to project teams.
• Support IT projects, upgrades, and rollouts across facilities.
