Job summary

TEKsystems in Odenton, MD, is seeking an on-site IT help desk technician for a contract role. You will provide first contact and incident resolution for hardware, software, and applications, assist customers by phone or online, and document solutions in incident databases.

The ideal candidate will have strong customer service, clear communication, and the ability to escalate complex issues to Tier II/III when needed. This is a fully onsite opportunity with competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Provides first contact and incident resolution to customers with hardware, software, and application problems.
• Delivers polite and friendly customer service.
• Escalates incidents to Tier II or Tier III when required.
• Documents incident status and solutions in incident database tools.
• Possesses current working knowledge of computers, printers, laptops, and common Windows applications.

Responsibilities

• Provides first contact and incident resolution to customers with hardware, software, and application problems.
• Provides polite and friendly customer service.
• Attempts to resolve as many incidents during the first contact, or at Tier I.
• Documents incident status and solutions in incident database tools.
• Possesses current working knowledge of computers, printers, laptops, and common windows applications.
• Works through various types Tier II issues with telephone assist.
• Provides answers to Frequently Asked Questions or solutions to common problems.
