Job summary

Insight is seeking a Services Technician to install, modify, repair, test, and service systems and communications equipment onsite at our Hanover Park, IL location. The role covers hardware, software configuration, cabling, and network support, with a 10:00am–6:30pm shift.

The ideal candidate has a BA/BS or 2 years of related experience, A+ and vendor hardware certs, plus hands-on hardware troubleshooting for laptops/desktops. This is a full-time onsite role with opportunities to advance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 2 years related experience; LAN/WAN and server software experience required.
• A+ certification and at least one vendor hardware certification required.
• Minimum one year hardware troubleshooting experience on laptops/desktops for Tier One vendors.
• Familiar with vendor websites to find hardware updates and driver updates; experience with Tier One products.
• Basic scripting to automate tasks is a plus but not required.
• Strong documentation and testing skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform hardware and peripheral repairs and test hardware installations to minimize client downtime.
• Install and test system hardware; set up hardware and identify problems.
• Complete client build documentation and return defective products/parts per policy.
• Identify hardware problems and determine cost-effective resolutions; order replacements.
• Unpack/pack devices and follow written/verbal instructions.
• Install, test, and configure network and data communication equipment; support NOS.
