Job summary

Elevate Patient Financial Solutions is hiring a Hospital Based Patient Advocate to connect uninsured hospital patients with programs covering medical expenses. The role involves bedside eligibility assessments, guiding patients through applications, and ensuring timely completion with a goal of high bedside screening rates.

Responsibilities include completing applications, documenting cases, providing excellent service, and coordinating with hospital staff and government agencies.

Qualifications

• Some college coursework preferred.
• Prior hospital experience preferred.
• Adaptability to changing processes, computer systems and government programs.
• Professional experience working with state and federal programs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to multitask and meet performance metrics in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Screen uninsured hospital patients at bedside to determine eligibility for federal, state, and/or county medical or disability assistance.
• Complete the appropriate applications and follow through until approved.
• Document thoroughly in Elevate PFS and hospital systems on all cases.
• Provide exceptional customer service at all times.
• Maintain assigned work queue of patient accounts.
• Collaborate with hospital staff, case managers, social workers, and financial counselors.
• Answer calls, make outbound calls, and track enrollment/renewal paperwork for Medicaid patients.
