Job summary

Clean Harbors is seeking a Hazardous Waste Operations Manager to lead onsite environmental operations at a key customer location. You will organize day-to-day activities to maximize profitability, ensure safe and compliant service delivery, and plan for ongoing needs related to technology, facilities, labor, and equipment.

You will develop, monitor, and measure performance against operational and financial KPIs while providing strong leadership to the onsite InSite team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3+ years of experience in operations management, environmental services, or related field.
• Training/certifications: RCRA, OSHA 24-hour HAZWOPER, DOT.
• Strong time-management and prioritization abilities.
• Effective verbal and written communication with internal teams and customers.
• Experience with P&L statements and providing timely data to management.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Oversee waste management services at a customer site or group of locations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance.
• Coordinate Health and Safety oversight of onsite employees supporting air, water, and hazardous waste programs.
• Maximize equipment and manpower utilization to support productivity and profitability.
• Develop, monitor, and measure KPIs to drive improvement and cost control.
• Establish processes to measure onsite performance and improve outcomes over time.
• Ensure infrastructure, tools, and staff can perform duties effectively.
• Guide on-site personnel development through coaching and mentoring; support succession planning.
• Ensure compliance with company and customer policies, including EH&S standards.
• Provide timely reporting and data on operations, KPIs, and financial performance to upper management.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to address issues and optimize program performance.
• Perform related duties to support InSite Program success.
