Job summary

RTX is seeking a Firmware Design Engineer in Goleta, CA for a 1st shift, 100% onsite position. You will contribute to power conversion technologies for airborne and military platforms with embedded systems and FPGA development.

Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be essential to deliver state-of-the-art hardware and software solutions. The role requires a STEM degree and at least 2 years of experience, plus experience with lab equipment and FPGA design tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or higher in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with at least 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience using basic lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and signal generators.
• Experience using engineering tools (Vivado, Quartus) for design (VHDL/Verilog).

Responsibilities

• Support work in the Hardware/Firmware Engineering Department for airborne, naval, and land-based military applications.
• Collaborate with product teams to design, develop, and manufacture complex systems based on customer specs.
• Perform detailed digital design, embedded systems, and FPGA development.
• Complete tasks including circuit analysis, circuit simulation, FPGA programming, design documentation, verification and testing, and hardware-software integration.
• Contribute to integration of hardware and software at the component and PCB level.
