RTX’s Effector Guidance Electronics (EGE) team in Huntsville, AL, develops FPGA embedded processing for weapon system products. The role designs FPGA implementations for AMD, Altera, and Microchip devices, covering RF/EO DSP, data links, and embedded processing.

Onsite work supports requirements through production, with strong emphasis on documentation and reviews. The position calls for a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or STEM with relevant FPGA experience, plus hands-on use of

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or STEM with 2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in at least 4 categories: Digital Design and HDL coding targeting configurable logic devices.
• Experience delivering FPGA solutions to system level applications.
• Experience with one or more brands of FPGA devices and related tools (Altera, Lattice, Microchip, AMD).
• Experience with integration and debugging electronics using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, etc.
• Experience with FPGA timing constraints and timing closure.
• Experience with digital simulation tools (Questa, RivieraPro or similar).
• Experience with Python or C programming.
• Advanced degree may substitute for 2 additional years of work experience; PhD can account for 5 years.

Responsabilités

• Design and deliver production quality FPGA releases from initial proof of concept up to production.
• Work cooperatively with systems, hardware, software engineers, and program management to ensure product success.
• Design and code in VHDL for reliability, maintainability, and reusability.
• Verify designs using directed tests and constrained random tests; track functional and code coverage.
• Create complete documentation including requirements, verification plan, user guides and configuration management.
• Design support from requirements through integration and test.
• Participate in internal and external technical reviews.
• Assist drive projects and meet program schedules and budget.
