Job summary

Raytheon in Goleta, CA seeks an experienced Firmware Design Engineer to design and develop power conversion technologies for airborne military applications. This 1st shift role is onsite and based in Goleta, CA.

Responsibilities include embedded systems, FPGA development, circuit analysis, and close collaboration with hardware teams to deliver state-of-the-art electronics. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain DoD clearance required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
• Minimum of 2 years of prior work experience.
• Experience with basic lab equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, signal generators).
• Experience using engineering tools such as Vivado or Quartus for design (VHDL, Verilog).
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support work in Hardware/Firmware Engineering Department at the Electronic Warfare Systems.
• Work on new product development based on descriptions and specifications provided by customers.
• Partner with integrated product teams to design, develop, and manufacture complex state-of-the-art systems for airborne, naval, and land-based military applications.
• Perform detailed digital design, embedded systems, and FPGA development.
• Complete tasks including circuit analysis, circuit simulation, FPGA programming, design documentation, design verification and testing, and integration of hardware and software at the level of electronic components and circuit boards.
