Job summary

RTX in Goleta, CA seeks a Senior Firmware Design Engineer to lead embedded systems and FPGA development for military applications. The role requires analysis, design, verification, and integration across hardware and software components, with collaboration across integrated product teams.

The candidate will have 5+ years in electrical engineering, FPGA/ HDL expertise, and strong communication skills, with eligibility for a DoD Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of electrical engineering experience or equivalent.
• Experience in digital signal processing, FPGA design, and embedded firmware integration.
• Proficiency with HDL languages and FPGA tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements and decompose into subsystem designs.
• Perform digital design, embedded systems, and FPGA development.
• Conduct circuit analysis, simulation, and design verification testing.
• Document design, perform verification and testing, and integrate hardware and software at component and board level.
• Collaborate with product teams to develop complex state-of-the-art systems for airborne, naval, and land-based military applications.
• Support new product development based on customer descriptions and specifications.
• Work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
