Job summary

George Mason University is seeking an Event Services Production Supervisor to oversee all on-site A/V and rental equipment for the Event Services unit. The role includes supervising staff, coordinating with departments, and ensuring high-profile events run smoothly with robust training programs.

You will manage in-house and portable systems, work with external vendors, and contribute to long-term equipment planning and budgets while maintaining safety and service standards for campus events.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience recruiting, developing effective training programs for staff, directing, and supervising staff is required.
• Experience working in all areas of event operations/support/technology.
• Experience planning and implementing events.
• Knowledge in sound, lighting and video setup, configuration and operation.
• Knowledge of event planning and proper configuration of technical equipment.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with staff, patrons, and colleagues.
• Ability to meet competing deadlines and prioritize responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Provides high-quality production services by overseeing transportation, setup, operation, and breakdown of equipment as requested.
• Serves as onsite supervisor/technician for high-profile events.
• Work flexible shifts based on event demand to ensure events are supported.
• Facilitates training on transportation, storage, setup, and operation of equipment.
• Creates operation guides and resources for staff training.
• Develops training materials and coaching opportunities with leadership.
• Mentors staff and provides constructive feedback.
• Ensures functionality and maintenance of production resources.
