Visit.org in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking an experienced Freelance Event Specialist to manage on-site logistics for upcoming in-person events. You will be the day-of hands-on coordinator, coordinating staffing, setup, check-in, and post-event breakdown while ensuring a high-quality guest experience.

The role requires fluency in English, strong communication, the ability to work flexible hours, and willingness to travel within the local region.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all event details, ship materials, and staff for each event; be on-site hands-on coordinator.
• Join virtual planning meetings with corporate partners, nonprofit partners, and Visit.org teams.
• Take ownership of on-site setup, adherence to onsite team, teardown, and guest experience.
• Act as Visit.org representative, leader, and problem solver at events.
• Align roles with onsite team, host, nonprofit, venue, staff, and corporate partner.
• Manage check-in process and provide warm, friendly guest reception.
• Escalate issues to Events Team and provide updates with photos/videos.
• Breakdown after event; repack and ship materials back to distribution center.
• Pack supplies and apply shipping labels as needed.
• Wear multiple hats and travel locally; strong customer service skills.
