Job summary

Digital Realty is seeking an Onsite Energy Generation Manager to lead the onsite energy generation projects across the AMER region in a hybrid setup spanning Dallas, Austin, Houston, Ashburn, Boston, Chicago, NYC, or Atlanta.

The role requires leading multi-disciplinary teams through design, construction, commissioning and handoff, with focus on natural gas-fired and alternative generation tech, regulatory compliance, and strong executive reporting. Travel up to 25% is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in the project management of energy generation, distributed energy resources, utility-scale power, or large-scale industrial infrastructure projects.
• Develop and maintain integrated project schedules, stakeholder engagement plans, risk registers, action-item logs, and budget tracking tools to support project execution and provide visibility into project milestones, risks, cost performance, and key decisions.
• Demonstrated experience overseeing complex generation programs, including natural gas-fired (a must) and fuel cell systems; exposure to nuclear or advanced energy technologies (a plus).

Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of the end-to-end lifecycle of on-site energy generation projects, from design through commissioning and handoff.
• Manage external consultants, owner’s engineers, and owner’s representatives throughout the life of the project.
• Provide executive-level reporting on program progress, risks, financials, and strategic direction.
• Coordinate with environmental, permitting, and regulatory teams to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
