Job summary

Digital Realty is seeking an Onsite Energy Generation Manager to lead end-to-end energy projects across the AMER region. The role partners with DE&C Design, Construction, and Real Estate Development Teams to deliver scalable, reliable on-site generation assets.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in energy generation project management, with experience in natural gas-based systems and knowledge of PSCAD and utility interconnection processes. Travel up to 25% is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years leading energy generation or large-scale industrial infrastructure projects.
• Experience overseeing natural gas-fired generation and possibly fuel cell systems.
• Familiarity with utility regulations and interconnection considerations.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; PMP is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end lifecycle of on-site energy generation projects from design through commissioning and handoff.
• Manage external consultants, owner’s engineers, and owner’s representatives throughout the project life cycle.
• Support technology selection, vendor evaluation, and risk assessments for generation technologies.
• Provide governance feedback, performance metrics, and technical requirements for onsite projects.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure project execution and long-term asset performance.
• Negotiate major equipment, EPC, and long-lead agreements with suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements and regulatory frameworks.
