Job summary

Digital Realty Trust, L.P. seeks an Onsite Energy Generation Manager to lead end-to-end energy projects across the AMER region, delivering scalable generation assets on site.

You will own projects, manage consultants, and coordinate with DE&C teams to meet design, construction, and performance goals. You will oversee technology selections, regulatory alignment, and vendor negotiations while driving governance, risk management, and executive reporting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years managing energy generation or large-scale infra projects.
• Develop schedules, risk registers, and budget tracking for projects.
• Experience with natural gas-fired generation and fuel cells; nuclear exposure a plus.
• Familiar with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
• Knowledge of PSCAD and utility regulations.
• Understand EPC delivery models and long-lead procurement.
• Proven leadership of multi-disciplinary teams and capex programs.
• Experience with permitting and environmental compliance.
• Strong executive communication and vendor management.
• Bachelor’s in engineering, energy systems, construction mgmt or related.
• Willing to travel up to 25%.
• PMP certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end lifecycle of on-site energy generation projects from design through commissioning.
• Manage external consultants and owner’s engineers.
• Support technology selection, commercial structuring, and vendor evaluation.
• Provide feedback into program governance and KPIs.
• Coordinate with internal design, engineering, and construction teams to execute projects.
• Foster relationships with EPC providers and technical consultants.
• Negotiate major equipment, EPC, and long-lead agreements.
• Coordinate with environmental, permitting and regulatory teams.
• Drive cross-functional alignment with Operations for asset performance.
• Provide executive-level reporting on progress, risks, financials, and strategy.
• Ensure DLR design and reliability requirements are delivered.
• Participate in internal reporting/steering meetings.
