Job summary

RTX in Goleta, CA is seeking a software engineer to join the Secure Product Assurance team. You will design, code, test real-time embedded software for radar, sensors, and EW systems, contributing across the full software lifecycle on cutting-edge defense programs. This onsite role requires a Master’s in STEM, C/C++ and OO design proficiency, and hands-on debugging.

U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in STEM from an accredited institution, degree must be obtained by start date.
• Experience developing, and testing or debugging software using C, C++, or similar object‑oriented programming language
• Strong Object‑Oriented Design knowledge and real time embedded software development experience
• Strong hands‑on troubleshooting and problem‑solving experience
• Experience developing software in a team‑based development environment with strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Work on complex technical problems and collaborate to provide innovative solutions.
• Work at all phases of the SW development lifecycle, including SW/HW integration, dependent on program phase
• Assist in the derivation of system and software requirements, architectural modeling, and technical analysis
• Design, code, unit test, integrate, and document real‑time embedded software solutions with a focus on Electronic Warfare implementations.
• Participate actively in software peer reviews, code inspections, and technical decision‑making alongside multidisciplinary teams, including program leadership and customers
• Support program execution to ensure work products meet technical, cost, schedule, and quality baselines.
• Follow established software development processes and practices to maintain software product integrity.
• Work Location: Onsite at our Goleta, CA Campus
• This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
