Job summary

RTX, an aerospace and defense leader, is seeking a software engineer in El Segundo to design, develop, and test software in an agile environment. The role focuses on delivering reliable code to support DoD programs and maintaining system architecture documentation.

Key qualifications include DoD Secret clearance on day one, a STEM degree, and 12+ months of software experience in C, C++, or Java, plus scripting and collaboration across disciplines.

Qualifications

• DoD Clearance: Secret active on day one, ability to get TS and SAP
• Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
• This position requires 12 months or more of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships)
• Experience with software development, test, and/or integration using C, C++, or Java, or similar high-level programming languages
• Experience with Scripting languages
• Clearly communicate plans, status, and issues to teammates and program leadership
• The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test software based on software trouble reports in an agile, collaborative environment, delivering builds
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing code for performance and efficiency in complex environments
• Write and maintain comprehensive documentation for software applications, including system architecture and design specifications
• Participate in agile execution and continuous improvement
• Work collaboratively with multiple engineering disciplines to analyze, implement, and test system modification requests to the existing system baseline
