Job summary

RTX in Goleta, CA is seeking an Embedded Security Software Engineer II to join the Secure Product Assurance team. You will design, code, integrate, and test real‑time embedded software for DoD-related systems, with focus on secure implementations and radar/sensor/guidance applications.

The role requires an MS in STEM, strong C/C++, Python or Perl, and hands‑on troubleshooting. Onsite work in Goleta with eligibility for U.S. security clearance and DoD Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in STEM from an accredited institution.
• Experience developing, testing or debugging software using C, C++, or similar OO language.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl or similar.
• Real time embedded software development experience.
• Strong hands‑on troubleshooting and problem‑solving experience.
• Experience in a team‑based development environment with good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Work on complex technical problems and collaborate to provide innovative solutions.
• Work at all phases of the software development lifecycle, including SW/HW integration.
• Assist in the derivation of system and software requirements, architectural modeling, and technical analysis.
• Design, code, unit test, integrate, and document real‑time embedded software solutions with a focus on Secure Software implementations.
• Participate in software peer reviews, code inspections, and technical decision‑making with multidisciplinary teams.
• Support program execution to ensure work products meet baselines for technical, cost, schedule, and quality.
