Job summary

ABB in New Berlin, WI is seeking a Repair Technician for service of drive units and subassemblies. You will repair standard drive units, troubleshoot, and ensure on-time, quality solutions, working onsite in Motion Service US.

You will review daily work, process repair orders, source parts, and maintain records. Experience with hand and power tools, VFDs, and SAP ERP is preferred; ECAP 3 certification may be required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in electronics or equivalent with related experience.
• ECAP Level 3 certification required or ability to obtain.
• Experience with hand and power tools.
• Knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives preferred.
• Experience with SAP or ERP systems preferred.
• U.S. citizen or valid work permit required.

Responsibilities

• Review and plan daily work assignments, prioritizing customer products in for repair. Coordinate with team Lead to ensure proper scheduling and expediting repair orders.
• Process repair work orders, both customer repair orders and production orders.
• Troubleshoot repair of products such as standard drive units, subassemblies and circuit boards; identify and repair problem, perform testing and burn-in as needed.
• Research bill of materials or ECN to identify required parts for drive/component repair.
• Complete Material Requisitions or contact Inventory Planner for parts.
• Ensure completion, processing and maintenance of all paperwork and reports.
